Remember the Promise

When I was younger I spoke to myself a lot.

Whenever I’d be going through something so heavy I had no way of solving it I’d imagine an interview with my successful self in the future.

In that imaginary interview I’d talk about the things I’d been through and how I’d overcome them to become the success I was…

The more dire the circumstances I’d find myself in- the more elaborate my imaginations.

Somehow I’d stopped doing that but I’m starting again- because it is so important to remember the Promise.

What Promise you may ask?

The promise of wonderful things to come.

Things you dreamed of becoming as a child.

Powerful words of greatness spoken over your life.

Weighty Words God had Promised that you may perhaps have shelved or forgotten- I urge You dear friend- do not forget the wonderful things you once believed lay in store for you.

I remember a time when I was going through such a storm! My body felt battered and bruised from the agony of of torment I was going through.

I was beside myself with worry and anxiety- I didn’t know when the chaos, hurt and disappointment would end.

I was in my kitchen- and I will never forget an encounter I had during that time because it was truly special.

I remember standing by my kitchen cupboard and lamenting about the state I was in.

And then I felt Jesus speak in my spirit- and He said: “Never did I say you wouldn’t have trouble. But be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.”

Friend. We. Have. God. Who. Cannot. Lie.

Whatever you truly desire to come to pass in your life- dare to believe it will.

Maybe not in the way you envision. But better. In Him that’s for sure.

Whatever God promised You- if you’d placed it on the shelf- it’s time to take it down- dust it off and start believing again.

Trouble will come. So will waves. But.  And it’s a BIG but: You have been designed with some powerful stuff. You are no walk over. You. were. Designed. To. Be. Victorious.

Anything that does not concur with that truth is a lie. Period.

Sometimes you’ll get No’s. Other times doors will close and you’ll wonder why. But the fact remains that those things are so very temporary- it’s up to you what You choose to focus on- what’s happening now or the wonderful future of your dreams?

I think of Abraham’s story. God had promised this very very very old man a child.

The Scriptures say:

Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
And being fully persuaded that, what He (God) had promised, He was able also to perform.

Your dreams, your aspirations, your hopes will come to pass.

The greater the storm you face the deeper you need to dig to bring out those things that you once believed about where you were going.

I say this often on my blog- I’ll repeat it here: The world has been waiting for you. Not someone like you- but You.

So dear Friend, Remember the Promise. Live out your dreams and give us what we’ve been waiting for. From no one else. But You.
